Teaches: Early Music lessons, Piano and Vocal Lessons, Tunes 4 Tots Classes, and Recording Lessons.

Musical Background:

I have been playing the piano and singing publicly since I was a small child as well as playing guitar since I was 13. I teach, perform, compose, and am involved in a rock band. I have received formal vocal instruction, as well as many high school music classes, both vocal and instrumental. I was involved with the ODSS Concert Band for three years under the direction of Mr. Doug McIlwain. I won the ODSS Instrumental award 4 times throughout my 5 years of study, and also received the Sylvia Hull Music award (2002), the Music Director award (2003), and the Grade 10 Vocal Music award (2000).

I have worked at 4 different summer camps across the country every summer for the past 7 years. Some of my responsibilities have included being a cabin leader, program director, leading many campfire programs, and teaching drama and music classes. I have been involved in many church related musical events including worship leading, choirs, leading children’s programs and music, performing special music, and participating in both vocal and instrumental small ensembles.

I attended Millar College of the Bible and majored in music and youth & children’s ministry. During my college experience I also began studies in the Royal Conservatory program at a grade 8 level in piano, as well as touring with three different music groups. I was involved with singing, playing guitar and piano, writing music, drama, and public speaking at these events. Because of these contributions to the music program, I received the Peter Schroeder Fine Arts award (2006). I have performed for several of Orangeville’s music competitions with a band known as Truth and Consequences, and was privileged to play publicly at the outdoor New Years Eve celebrations three years ago.

Since then, I have worked two years at the Orangeville Manchester Montessori School (previously Trillium) in the toddler program, teaching a children’s choir, and being involved with the students in band class.

As well as enjoying the joys and excitement of raising yound twins, I am the lead singer and keyboardist in the band Citizen of Zion (CoZ) and love to perform! As co-owner of New OpporTUNEities Studio, I have been formally teaching piano and voice for the past 8 years, running Tunes 4 Tots classes, song-writing workshops, and rock band programs. Would love to meet you and share the love of music together!
