My childhood was full of music in many different ways. Singing at church, singing around the piano with my family, listening to records and tapes every chance I could.

At the age of 6, until age 19 I took piano lessons. I completed my grade two music theory course, played the piano for church services and many different children’s groups and clubs. When in high school, I taught piano at a local music studio and played in a Dixieland band at school.  I taught private lessons for a couple of years in my early twenties.   Had experinces in accompanying soloists as well as playing and singing for the choir and church services while attending Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa.

Playing many different styles of music has always been part of my piano experience. I am now part of the band/worship team at Compass Community Church in Orangeville.

The violin is another instrument that I took lessons with for 6 years and participated in music competitions, played in a youth orchestra and performed at church and other venues.

Besides my love of music, I truly love and enjoy working with children.  I have been married 25 years and we have 5 children that I home schooled for many years and spent many hours around the piano with them singing.  We had many opportunities to sing as a family at churches and nursing homes. Since high school I have been involved in teaching children in church and in different clubs and programs.  It has been such a blessing to have many opportunities to be involved with children.

I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to teach and share the gift of music with some very special children at New Opportunities Studio!
