Tunes 4 Tots

Tunes 4 Tots classes are one hour sessions are led by instructor (Becki Prins). These classes are for a mother/father or other caregiver and a child(ren). Each session includes a 30 or 45 minute circle time, as well as an unstructured group time to encourage socialization and exploration. Every course is tailored to a certain age group and involves music, singing, movement, toys and some instrument play (depending on the age). Teddy Bear’s Picnic $68 – 8 Week Course – 30 minute sessions

If you go out in the woods today be sure for a big surprise…the classics are sometimes the best! This course is full of snuggling and soft, lilting tunes, as well as songs and activities that promote recognizing simple rhythms and practicing eye contact. Prepare to be delighted with your fuzzy, soft, and snugly baby bear!

 

 

Bunnies & Elephants $68 – 8 Week Course – 30 minute sessions

We will be focusing on the beginning stages of interaction songs, learning their names, body parts (especially their toes!), and rhythm development. The animals we’ll be focusing on for this session are bunnies and elephants! Of course we’ll also be including some weather songs, one-on-one songs, and a few precious lullabies.

 

 


Round and Round $68 – 8 Week Course – 30 minute sessions

Cars and trains, balloons and balls; what child is not fascinated by the circle? We’ll be exploring all these as well as shapes, movement (spinning, rolling, rotating), learning and responding to names, and colour recognition. Get ready for a rolling, and rocking good time!

 

 

 

Look at Me! $68 – 8 Week Course – 30 minute sessions

As we all know, your child is right now on the brink of the inevitable phrase that will become a routine part of everyday…”I can do it myself!” As for now, they are just beginning to learn about themselves and the world around them. We will be focusing on learning their names, body parts (especially the parts of the face), their appearance, and also touching on some of their daily activities. The animal we’ll be focusing on for this session is the frog!

 

Barrel of Monkeys $93 – 8 Week Course – 45 minute sessions

Because your little monkey is exhausting you with their boundless energy and mischievous ways, let’s celebrate with music all that makes them so wonderful! Lots of movement will define this course, as well as targeting specific skills for their age group. Time to open the barrel and have fun with your little monkey!

 

 

Crocodile Rock $93 – 8 Week Course – 45 minute sessions

Crocodile RockThis program is full of dancing and wiggling, while also beginning to introduce more musical knowledge and instrumental skill.  The xylophone will be the primary instrument as we learn the note names and colours and try to play together, all the while making friends and becoming more independant!  A fantastic introduction to one-on-one music lessons!
 

Bigga, Stronga $68 – 8 Week Course – 30 minute sessions

…And they don’t stop getting that way! Because this class has a larger age range, the course material will seek to highlight the strengths of each child and parent – helping, depending, listening, and waiting – to weave together a strong teamwork attitude between siblings and parents. Lots of upbeat songs and activities for a slightly broader age group. For the course, a sibling discount is available if applicable.

 

 

Spring has Sprung $68 – 8 Week Course – 30 minute sessions

At an early age, children are absorbing massive amounts of information about the world around them. And as the seasons cycle, babies and toddlers begin to sense the changes in the air around them. The twittering birds, the sun and the rain and the warmer weather. We’re going to explore some of these themes through song to help your child develop a sense of awareness about the world around them.

What does an average Tunes 4 Tots session involve?
Depending on the age range of the class, each session incorporates songs and activities from several of the following categories: familiar songs, theme/prop songs, hand action, whole body movement, rhythm instruments, weather, language, self-awareness, one-onone parent/child, quiet time, spatial awareness, hand-eye co-ordination, and more. The class includes live instrumentation (acoustic guitar) as well as CD accompaniment. A CD for each course comes in the BMB so songs can be learned and loved at home.

How do I find out about new classes and register?
If you are interested in learning about when classes are running, you can join our Facebook “Tunes 4 Tots” group.  You can also request to be added to our email list which will allow you to receive updates about classes, programs, and special events.  If you are interested in registering for a particular class, information can be emailed or messaged directly to Jennifer Cluley, the Tunes 4 Tots Administrative Assistant.  Once we receive your non-refundable $25 deposit (via EMT, cash, or cheque) you will be officially registered. When are these programs running?
Classes are currently offered on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

What if the class I am interested in is not currently running?
The eight week sessions are planned and scheduled according to demand, so please be sure to call or email if you have specific requests for a certain class at a certain time. Sessions usually begin in September, January, April, and July.
